April is Environmental Education Month – Celebrate!
Happy Environmental Education Month!! Did you know that interactive outdoor learning experiences have been linked to improved student behavior, attendance, attitude, and academic achievement? April is Maryland Environmental Education Month, celebrating the importance of environmental literacy and connecting children with their natural world. Whether netting insects, identifying birds, investigating stream life and the Bay’s water quality, or planting trees, there is no substitute for hands-on education.
Governor Hogan has designated April as EE Month. Print a copy of the Proclamation here, and display it proudly, help spread the word. What are you doing for EE Month? Earth Day? Arbor Day/Month? It’s finally spring!
Kick off spring with outdoor activities! There are lots of resources for educators through DNR, Maryland State Parks, and partners statewide. And DNR offers a variety of fun programs that the whole family will enjoy, from guided wildlife hikes to star gazing, and more!
